Stella Damasus intensifies fight against domestic violence

Top Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus-Aboderin on Monday urged women to promptly report cases of sexual molestation and abuse to the relevant agencies. Damasus spoke at the ADIVA programme she organized to promote the rights of women and girls.
She expressed concern that many unreported cases of sexual violence had left a lot of women psychologically traumatized and challenged mothers to develop a bond with their children especially females, so that they could freely report cases of abuse or molestation by the opposite sex.

“Many parents have bottled up cases of rape that their daughters have gone through due to the fear of being stigmatized by the society. Cases like this, should be reported, so that the offenders can be brought to book and debarred him from continuing such acts against other people.”

She advised women to take advantage of several government and NGO platforms established to handle cases of abuse against women.
