Following the brouhaha after Nollywood actor Nonso Diobi’s controversial tweet on Sunday September 9, the prolific actor has opened up to clear the air on the controversial tweet. He was reported in some sections of the media yesterday that he has remained celibate for two years. The news spread like wild fire prompting Nonso to come out with a statement.

He clarified that the controversial tweet was only a joke which was taken too seriously by the media. According to the born actor, he only jokingly answered a question directed at him on twitter when he was asked when he last was intimate with a woman, which he replied to be two years ago.

In his words, “So this joke has gone wide. I never knew that joke would go wide. I was just joking with these guys on twitter and it went wide. Chai! Hmmm, that little joke has gone wild.”

Nonso has been quite absent in some recently released Nollywood movies prompting questions of what may be going on with him, but indicated that he need some private time and ready to step out with new sets of movies soon.
